AI Visibility

Ask ChatGPT for a business like yours. Does it name you?

Right now it names somebody. We find out whether that somebody is you, fix what is keeping you out of the answer, and measure it again on a fixed schedule. Based in Lagos, working with clients in Nigeria, the UK and the US.

AI visibility is whether an AI engine names your business when someone asks it a question your business could answer. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Gemini increasingly reply with a written answer instead of a list of links, and most people treat that answer as settled. If your business is absent from it, the customer never learns you exist. If it is wrong about you, they believe the wrong thing. Nexum-sol measures how often the engines name you, fixes what is keeping you out, and measures it again on a fixed schedule.

Why You Are Here

Which of these happened to you?

Almost nobody goes looking for this work. Something happens first. These are the four we see.

01

“A customer showed me what ChatGPT said about us.”

This is the most common way an owner finds out. The customer believes the answer more than they believe your website, because an answer reads as settled and a page of links reads like homework. Whatever the engine told them is now what they think about your business, and they had already decided before they reached you. The first thing to establish is whether the engine said it once or says it every time, and that takes a fixed set of questions rather than one screenshot.

A customer showed you a ChatGPT answer: what to do next

02

“ChatGPT is saying things about my business that are not true.”

Wrong information is a different problem from being absent, and it is the more urgent one. There is no support line to call and no form that takes it down, because nobody at OpenAI or Google typed the sentence. The engine assembled it from what it could find about you, which means the correction is made at the sources rather than at the engine. Finding which sources it draws on, correcting the facts where they actually live, and giving it something better to find is slower than an edit, and it is the thing that works.

ChatGPT has wrong information about my business

03

“We rank well on Google, but ChatGPT never mentions us.”

Ranking first and being named are two different achievements, and the first does not deliver the second. A search engine is choosing which links to list. A language model is choosing which businesses to name inside a sentence it is writing, which turns on whether it can tell you apart from every similar business and whether the sources it trusts agree about your facts. A page can be the top result and still give the model nothing it can use.

Does ChatGPT know your business exists?

04

“Enquiries are down and I cannot work out why.”

Check whether your impressions held while your clicks fell. That pattern means people are still finding your page and no longer need to open it, because the answer above the results already told them what they wanted. When that answer names a competitor instead of you, the enquiry goes to the competitor and nothing in your analytics records that it happened. Worth diagnosing before you spend more on ads, because more ads do not fix it.

ChatGPT acts like my business does not exist

All four start in the same place: find out what the engines actually say about you, on a fixed set of questions, written down so you can compare it against the same run next month. That is the audit.

Our Method

The Nexum Visibility Loop

Five stages, run in order, then run again. We publish the method openly and sell the execution.

Map

We audit how visible you are today across Google and the AI engines, using a fixed library of buyer questions. This produces your baseline AI Citation Rate: the share of those questions where an engine names you. For most businesses the first number is zero, and that is the point. It is the measurement everything else is compared against.

Anchor

We make the engines certain about who you are. Most businesses appear under slightly different names, addresses and phone numbers across their own site, their Google profile and every directory that lists them, and an engine reading that cannot safely say the business exists. We make those facts identical everywhere they appear, mark them up so a machine reads them without guessing, and check that a crawler sees the same page a person does.

Answer

We give the engines something worth quoting. That means pages built around the questions your buyers actually ask, answers that still make sense when a machine lifts one paragraph out and drops it into a reply, and original numbers it cannot get anywhere else. This is the stage that turns a website from a brochure into a source.

Amplify

Engines weigh what other sources say about you, so a site alone is not enough. We build off-site consensus through relevant communities, industry publications, and directory listings that carry the same entity facts as your site.

Measure

We re-run the same question library, recalculate your Citation Rate, and report your Share of Voice against named competitors. The findings feed straight back into Map and the loop closes. The question set never changes between runs, which is what makes the numbers comparable.

How To Work With Us

Three ways in

Every engagement starts with the diagnostic. You get the findings whether or not you buy anything else.

01

AI Visibility Audit

One-off diagnostic. Fixed fee. No commitment beyond it.

We run your business against a fixed library of buyer questions across the major AI engines and record verbatim which brands get named. You receive your baseline AI Citation Rate, the competitors currently taking your answers, an entity audit of how your business appears to a machine, and a prioritised list of what is causing the gap. If the audit says you do not need us, it says that.

02

Visibility Loop Setup

A project that implements the Anchor and Answer stages.

We fix what the audit found. The engines end up with one consistent answer to who you are wherever they look, and a first set of pages that answer your buyers’ real questions in a form a machine can quote. Underneath that: entity schema, corrected listings everywhere your business appears, an llms.txt file, and the rendering fixes that let a crawler see what a visitor sees. Delivered as a project with a fixed scope and a re-measurement at the end.

From ₦450,000 or $1,800
Discuss a Setup
03

Visibility Retainer

The full loop, run every month, with the scoreboard reported to you.

Ongoing Map through Measure. New answer-first content each month, off-site consensus building, entity maintenance as your business changes, and a monthly report showing your Citation Rate and Share of Voice against the competitors you care about. AI visibility moves as engines update, so it is maintained rather than finished.

From ₦200,000/mo or $900/mo
Talk About a Retainer

Prices are set per market. The Naira figures are for clients in Nigeria and the dollar figures are for international clients. They are separate rate cards rather than conversions of each other. Naira prices are exclusive of 7.5% VAT. Final pricing depends on the size of your site and the number of questions tracked.

Who This Suits

Is this worth doing for your business?

This work pays off when your customers research before they buy and when a recommendation carries weight. Professional services, B2B software, schools and training providers, healthcare, finance, and considered-purchase retail all qualify. If someone would plausibly ask an AI engine to recommend a provider like you, there is an answer being written right now that either names you or names a competitor.

It suits you less if you sell mainly on price in a walk-in trade, or if you already have more work than you can deliver. We will say so on the call rather than after the invoice.

The Vocabulary

What is the difference between SEO, AEO, and GEO?

You do not need these words to buy this, and the owners we speak to never use them. They are here because your developer or your current agency will, and because they name three genuinely different targets. Skip this section if it is not your job to know.

01

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO is the practice of getting your pages to rank in a list of search results. The target is position. A customer sees a list of links, clicks yours, and lands on your site. SEO still matters, because AI engines draw heavily on pages that already rank well. It is the foundation the other two build on.

02

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)

AEO is the practice of structuring content so it can be lifted and used as the direct answer to a question. The target is the answer itself, in featured snippets, voice assistant replies, and answer boxes. AEO work is mostly structural: question headers, self-contained answer blocks that make sense with no surrounding context, and FAQ schema that tells a machine which text answers which question.

03

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

GEO is the practice of getting your business named and cited inside an answer written by a large language model. The target is the citation. It depends on things SEO never had to care about: whether the engine can identify your business as a distinct entity, whether independent sources agree on your facts, and whether your content is quotable at the passage level. A business can rank first on Google and still be invisible to ChatGPT, because the two systems are answering different questions.

We have written about how this works in detail. Start with SEO vs AEO vs GEO: The 2026 Search Strategy or How AI Engines Actually Choose What to Cite.

The work around it

What else does Nexum-sol do?

Visibility work usually needs something built, written, or fixed, so we do those things too. Each one attaches to a stage of the loop above. A website is the Anchor stage, because your site is where your machine-readable identity lives. Content and social are Answer and Amplify, giving the engines something to quote and building agreement about you on sites you do not own. Brand identity keeps your facts identical everywhere they appear. Consultancy is the Map stage. Technical training covers the broader skills your team needs, and training them to run the visibility work itself is already included in the Setup and Retainer tiers.

All of them can be bought on their own, at published prices. See the add-on services and what they cost.

Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Usually because the engine cannot tell who you are, not because it dislikes you. A language model names a business when it can identify that business as a distinct organisation, when the sources it trusts agree on your basic facts, and when something written about you can be quoted on its own. Most sites fail the first test: the same business appears under three slightly different names, addresses, and phone numbers across its own site, its Google profile, and every directory that lists it. An engine reading that cannot safely say you exist, so it names someone it is sure about instead. The fix starts with making your facts identical everywhere they appear.
Start by finding out how consistently it happens, because the answer changes what you do. Ask the engines the questions your buyers would ask, in the words your buyers would use, and record which brands get named across every run. If a competitor is named most of the time, look at what the engine can find about them that it cannot find about you: a clearer identity, more sources repeating the same facts, or pages that answer the buyer's question directly instead of describing a service. It is rarely about who is bigger. It is about who is easier to quote.
You correct the sources, not the engine. Nobody at OpenAI or Google wrote the sentence, so there is no form that removes it and no support line that will help. The model assembled the claim from what it could find, which means the work is to find the sources it drew on, correct the facts where they actually live, and publish something clearer for it to use next time. Old profiles, outdated directory entries, and stale pages on your own site are the usual culprits. Corrections take effect as engines recrawl and re-embed, so this is a matter of weeks rather than hours.
Because ranking and being cited are different achievements. Search ranks pages and hands the visitor a list to choose from. A language model writes a sentence and has to decide which businesses to name inside it, which depends on whether it can tell you apart from every similar business and whether independent sources agree about your facts. Neither of those is what a ranking measures. A page can sit at position one and still give a model nothing it can lift, which is why strong Google performance and zero AI visibility sit together so often.
Ask an engine the questions your buyers would ask, phrased the way a buyer would phrase them, and record whether your business is named. Ask for a recommendation in your category and city rather than searching your own brand name, because a brand-name search tells you very little. Do it across several engines, since they differ. Our blog post on the AI Visibility Audit walks through twelve questions you can run yourself in about twenty minutes.
No, and you should treat any agency that guarantees it with caution. Nobody controls what a language model outputs, and the engines change how they retrieve and cite sources without notice. What we commit to is the measurement: a baseline Citation Rate before we start, the same question library re-run on a fixed schedule, and a report showing whether the number moved. If it does not move, you will see that too.
Ask what gets measured and whether you can see the raw output. A real audit names the exact questions it ran, the engines it ran them on, and the verbatim answers that came back, so you can repeat the run yourself and get the same number. Ask what your baseline is and how it will be recalculated later, because a measurement you cannot compare against a second measurement is not worth buying. Ask what happens if the finding is that you do not need the work. Then ask who owns the deliverable and whether the question set stays fixed between runs, since a question set that quietly changes can manufacture improvement that did not happen.
At Nexum-sol, a one-off AI Visibility Audit starts at ₦150,000, a Visibility Loop Setup project starts at ₦450,000, and a monthly Visibility Retainer starts at ₦200,000 per month. Naira prices are exclusive of 7.5% VAT. International clients are quoted on a separate dollar rate card starting at $600 for the audit, $1,800 for the setup, and $900 per month for the retainer. Final pricing depends on the size of your site and how many buyer questions are tracked.
The audit is delivered within two weeks of starting. Technical entity fixes take effect as engines recrawl, which is usually weeks rather than days. Citation changes are slower and depend on how often each engine refreshes its index and how contested your category is. We measure on a fixed monthly cycle so you can see the trend rather than guess at it. Anyone promising results in a set number of days is guessing.
The AI Citation Rate is the share of a fixed set of buyer questions where an AI engine names your business in its answer. If twenty questions are tracked and your business is named in three of them, the Citation Rate is 15%. The question set stays the same between runs, which is what makes two measurements comparable. We pair it with Share of Voice, which is your mentions as a proportion of all brand mentions across the same run.
Yes. AI engines draw heavily on pages that already rank well in conventional search, so ranking remains one of the inputs to being named. This work adds a layer on top of SEO rather than replacing it. A site with no search visibility at all is a much harder starting point.
Yes. Nexum-sol is based in Lagos and works with clients in the United Kingdom and the United States alongside Nigerian businesses. The work is done remotely and quoted on a separate dollar rate card for international clients.
Yes. Nexum-sol Ltd is a digital agency in Lagos, Nigeria that provides Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). We sell it as AI visibility, because that is what buyers call it, and the three acronyms describe the disciplines underneath. The offering runs in three tiers: a one-off AI Visibility Audit, a Visibility Loop Setup project, and a monthly Visibility Retainer. We serve clients in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO, is the practice of getting a business named and cited inside answers written by large language models such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. It differs from SEO because the target is a citation inside a generated answer rather than a position in a list of links. It relies on the engine being able to identify your business as a distinct entity, on independent sources agreeing about your facts, and on your content being quotable at the passage level.
Answer Engine Optimization, or AEO, is the practice of structuring content so that a machine can lift it and use it as the direct answer to a question. It targets featured snippets, voice assistant replies, and answer boxes. The work is mainly structural: phrasing headers as the questions people actually ask, writing answers that make sense when read on their own, and adding FAQ schema so an engine knows which passage answers which question.
